Emerging Earth: Fragile Yet Enduring
This set of four handbuilt bowls was made using a slow coil and pinch method. Formed from sandy raku clay and coloured with variations of terra sigillata and oxides, they are light, delicate, and intentionally fragile. The title reflects the quiet strength of Papatūānuku—the Earth Mother—and the fine balance she holds. These forms are not bold or loud, but they carry presence. They speak to the natural world as it is: resilient and vulnerable, enduring and exposed. Each bowl is an invitation to pause. To consider the whenua, and how we live in relationship with it. Not made for function—but for reflection.
