Quiet Arrangements
Hand-built ceramic vessels celebrating flowers, form and friendship
This collection was created as a series of ceramic ikebana vessels. Combining simple geometric forms with carefully considered openings, each piece is designed to encourage a natural relationship between clay and flowers. Originally commissioned by the Nelson Aikido Club as gifts for visiting dojos throughout Aotearoa New Zealand, the vessels celebrate friendship, hospitality and cultural exchange. Although each piece is unique, they share a common visual language of balanced forms, colour and simplicity. Designed to be enjoyed both with and without flowers, they reflect my continuing interest in creating ceramic objects that are quietly sculptural as well as functional.
